This Privacy Policy applies to the Elan Player mobile and desktop applications and website (the "Service"). This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Local Data Processing
Elan Player is primarily a local video player. We do not upload your video files, playback history, or personal
media content to any cloud server. All media processing happens directly on your device.
On-device Subtitle Generation and Translation
Optional subtitle generation uses a downloaded Whisper speech model for English, Korean, Japanese,
Chinese, and Spanish. Optional translation between these languages is powered by Google Translate through ML Kit. Audio, recognized text, and translation results
are processed on your device and are not sent to Google for translation. Models are downloaded
when needed. ML Kit may contact Google for model updates and send SDK performance and usage metrics.

Anonymous Usage Analytics
The macOS and Windows applications may send anonymous usage events such as app launches, playback actions, feature
use, app version, operating system version, and language to Google Analytics. Media names, local file paths,
network addresses, and stream URLs are not included. You can disable this collection at any time from the
application settings.
Website and Download Statistics
The website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and download-button activity. When a macOS or Windows
download starts, we also increment an aggregate counter by platform and release version. We do not store
an IP address or a media identifier in this download counter.
Advertising on iPhone and iPad
On iPhone and iPad, Elan Player shows banner ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, the app first
shows Google's consent form, and then Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, AdMob may
use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads based on your interests; if you do not, the
identifier is not shared and ads are not personalized with it. The app works the same either way. You can change
the tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and, where a consent
choice is required, review it again from the app's settings. The iPhone and iPad app contains no analytics SDK.

The App does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. We use these services primarily for displaying advertisements, which helps support the development of this free app.

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
The Elan Player website uses first-party analytics cookies to distinguish anonymous visitors and sessions. The desktop and mobile applications do not use browser cookies directly, although third-party services may use comparable identifiers as described in their privacy policies.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
